Huge amounts of this book is Charley relearning what it is to be Charley. But nor do they tell her the truth or try to. On top of that we have Reyes.
But he is hot — and this is the very first time that Charley has seen him. Which means we have pages and pages and pages and pages about how very hot he is.ceijobbefile.ga
Early Review: Dirt on Ninth Grave by Darynda Jones (Charley Davidson #9) | Vampire Book Club
Again, this whole book felt like a leap back to the beginning and so very annoying. There were still a lot of good elements. I loved the continuing way Charley bounces off everyone — how she and Cookie and everyone else can have such good banter. I also quite like how Charley grows into herself. I like how she begins very afraid and determined to stay out of the various dramas that happen around her — after all she has no idea who she is and enough problems of her own. But as her story continues she recognises more of her powers and, beyond that, she simply cannot bring herself to leave people alone who definitely need help, especially since she quickly realises some of them cannot possibly get help without her intervention.
I really loved that even though Charley couldn't remember who she was, she was still drawn to the same people with the same intensity.

Those were some hot scenes! But it's not only the characters that Charley is drawn to, she just can't stop being who she intricately is! Not only as a private investigator but just by being a good person that likes to help people. And don't even get me started on her gifts at being The Reaper. Of course, all the little "cases" get taken care of and the last one is a humdinger. I never saw that coming but I loved who was there for her! Not sure how that's going to work out but again, I can't wait for the next book, The Curse of Tenth Grave , coming out June 28, View all 38 comments.
Nov 02, Yodamom rated it it was amazing. Felling silent for now, waiting for 10 Bittersweet. Charlie, was so lost in this book, but still held her sense of humor and care for others. In the last book she lost so much, it is amazing that she is still alive. She feels alone but the strangers around her are not who she thinks they are. She is never truly alone. My heart broke for her, Reyes, Cookie and her family. Charlie is one of my favorite characters it's hard watching her suffer. OMG what a cliffhanger! Where is book 10?

Review: The Dirt on the Ninth Grave by Darynda Jones
If there's one thing Darynda Jones knows better than pretty much everyone else, it's how to keep a series fresh and exciting through more pages than one can count. Charley Davidson never gets old no, really, she's more or less immortal , she never gets tired supernatural beinh, duh , and she never gets bored… or boring, for that matter. There are very few series I love more at this point and I don't see that changing any time soon. As always, though, Darynda found the perfect solution by making a simple yet startlingly clever move and handling things elegantly while staying true to the series and herself.

I've waited so long for the new Reyes and Charley's book, it's not even funny. But now that I finally got to read this amazing and awesome story, it's all is forgiven and forgotten.
The dirt on ninth grave : Charley Davidson Series, Book 9
That is of course only for the next few days. Then I'm going to star feeling all grouchy and miserable, because the wait for the next book ARC received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Then I'm going to star feeling all grouchy and miserable, because the wait for the next book is going to slowly but surely kill me. But first let me tell you why I love the ninth book so much. For those of you, who didn't read the previous book, I strongly suggest that you do so or at least skim through it, because you might get confused when you start reading this one.
This story picks up where the last one ended and that was on a big fat cliffhanger that blew my mind. Buy you can also guess from the blurb what happened.
Charley view spoiler [ loses her entire memory hide spoiler ]! So, it's safe to say that I was a bit concerned by how this big dilemma is going to affect her and all that she's come to love and care for. Of couse, I should have trusted in Darynda's magic powers to make the best plot possible. Charley is still the same badass chick that we all know and love.
She will also stop at nothing to help her friends the living or the dead , even if that means risking her life countless times. But the best part was and is always going to be her wicked humor. Like, mind-blowing. What are we talking about? Although, at times she did need a little bit of help from her friends and her gorgeous, mysterious and sinfully sexy Reyes. And let me tell you, those two were explosive together. I admit, it took them awile to get there but when they did, wow! The Dirt on Ninth Grave has angst, mystery, danger, love, jealousy, heartbreak, loss, lots of action and so much more.
Also, we get to know more about who or better said what Charley and Reyes are and what to expect from their future. And you won't believe who they get rid of, finally!!! All in all is this a story that won't disappoint. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting.
I highly recommend! But there is some OW and OM drama. Since Reyes is who he is, the women all want him and try to flirt with him. He never responds.
As for OM drama, Charley has this friend Ian, who is the officer that first found her after she lost all her memory. Sadly, he's a psychopart, who thinks that she and him are dating and in the end tries to kill her. But gets himself killed instead, ha!
